The Music Together Princeton Lab School is proud to be the "original" Music Together® program, founded in downtown Princeton in 1985 and known as the Center for Music and Young Children until 2009. Today, Music Together can be found in more than 3,000 locations in over 40 countries worldwide.
At the Music Together Princeton Lab School we're committed to helping families, caregivers, and early childhood professionals rediscover the pleasure and educational value of informal music experiences. Rather than emphasizing traditional music performances, the Music Together program encourages play, and family participation in spontaneous musical activity occurring within the context of daily life. We recognize that all children are musical and that every child needs a stimulating, supportive music environment to achieve basic competence in the wonderful human capacity for music-making.
At the lab school, we pilot curriculum modifications, new programs, and research for Music Together Worldwide. We also serve as the public interface to the Greater Princeton area for Music Together through our class offerings, public speaking engagements, outreach programs, community service, concerts, and sing-a-longs. Our staff, including Music Together founder/director, Ken Guilmartin and his co-author, Dr. Lili Levinowitz, as well as Music Together Worldwide CEO, Susan Darrow, is committed to sharing The Joy of Family Music®®® and the educational philosophies behind it with the greater Princeton community.
At the Music Together Pricneton Lab School, our greatest joy comes from seeing children discover music. Come join us for a free trial and find out how much fun our award winning, research based, music and movement program can be!
